Day 4 — Writer Spotlight: David Leicht

IMG_3461.JPG

David is an actor and sound designer, who currently lives in Rhode Island with his beautiful family. He was the drummer for The Republickin’s, and performed for years with maraca New York.

I met Dave in 1991 at NYU, where we were ensemble collaborators (and classmates with Amy!) We performed an original cabaret called We’re Fine, How Are You? in Denver and New York in 1997 and 1998, and co-led a loose group called Bonejesters from 2000 to 2005. He recorded music for Third Base!, my clown duet when I lived in California, and I have been contriving ways to collaborate with him whenever I get the chance. He is one of my dearest friends, and the vision of Circo de Nada is unimaginable without the ways that Dave shaped my idea of what theater and art ensembles could be. — Nick
